Meet Mojiva's Board Of Directors
David Gwozdz, CEO
Earlier in his career, Gwozdz served as a member of the founding team of DoubleClick, the internet advertising company acquired by Google for $3 billion in March 2008. In 1995, Dave also founded one of the first online ad networks, Hot Link Media.
An advertising and technology industry pioneer who can't get enough of the game, Dave's most significant accomplishments include leading Mojiva to grow faster than any other advertising platform, having served over 2 billion ads in its first 10 months of operation. At DoubleClick, his work included devising and implementing the company's original media sales products and strategies. Dave previously held various management positions at McGraw-Hill, Ziff Davis and CMP.
Dave's recent speaking experience includes ad:tech, DealMaker Media's Under the Radar, DigiDay: Mobile, Dow Jones Wireless Innovations 2009, and Billboard Mobile Entertainment Live at CTIA. Dave has been featured as a mobile advertising expert by CNN, Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, CNet and more.
Dan Goikhman, SVP Strategic Alliances & Co-Founder
Prior to Mojiva, Goikhman spent several years consulting numerous Fortune 100 firms in critical areas including, New Business Development, Customer Relationship Management, Operational Risk, Outsourcing, and Project Risk Management.
Notably, Dan was an AVP, Operational Risk at RBS Greenwich Capital and Manager in the American Express Operational Risk Services Group tasked with providing independent review, analysis and guidance on processes and controls, identifying and communicating new and emerging risks, and developing, supporting and analyzing an Operational Risk Management Framework.
Before joining American Express, Dan was a consultant within KPMG's IT Advisory services practice with a focus on New-Business initiatives including proposal development for sourcing consulting services to several Fortune 500 companies.
Miles Spencer, Founder and Chairman
For over twenty years, Miles has distinguished himself as a creator of ideas, a builder of businesses, and a leader of organizations. His angel group, Vaux les Ventures, has interests in over a dozen companies where he helped form the original team, provided the original capital, or both. Miles’ vision, combined with Dan and Krish’s expertise and enthusiasm, was the spark that became Mojiva. Capital events following his efforts have realized over a billion dollars of value for shareholders, including notable successes in digital media like Register.com, Operative, Cellufun and of course, Mojiva.

Tony Nethercutt, Advisor
With over 20 years of experience in sales and operations at some of the world’s most well-known media companies including Yahoo, DoubleClick, YouTube and AdMob, Tony Nethercutt brings an enviable raft of knowledge and experience to Mojiva, Inc. His role as General Manager has him responsible for key departments in both Mojiva, the mobile ad network as well as Mocean Mobile, the ad serving platform.
With over 20 years of experience in sales and operations at some of the world’s most well-known media companies including Yahoo, DoubleClick, YouTube and AdMob, Tony Nethercutt brings an enviable raft of knowledge and experience to Mojiva, Inc. His role as General Manager has him responsible for key departments in both Mojiva, the mobile ad network as well as Mocean Mobile, the ad serving platform.
For 13 years, Tony built his career as a TV sales rep and sales manager for the likes of ABC-TV and New World (at which point he transitioned into the digital space with GeoCities). From there, Mojiva, Inc’s CEO, Dave Gwozdz, hired Tony at DoubleClick to develop specialized programs for advertisers and agencies. The success of these programs garnered press interest and landed Tony on the front page of the Wall Street Journal in ’98.
After his time with DoubleClick, Tony moved to Lot21, a pioneering digital agency, which was soon acquired by Carat Interactive in ‘02. From 2002 to 2006, with a broad range of both above-the-line and digital experience, he joined Yahoo and consulted with major agencies on their accounts. This ultimately led to Tony being the only four-time Platinum Sales Award MVP during his time at Yahoo.
With these enviable accolades, Tony’s career gained momentum when he joined YouTube as their original VP of Sales. Tony developed and led the YouTube revenue strategy, along with the hiring and training of the team members in sales, account management, and sales operations up until its acquisition.
In November of 2006, following the YouTube acquisition by Google, Tony joined AdMob as VP of Sales, where he oversaw both brand and DR advertising strategy, hiring and training sales and account management, and advertising operations. AdMob was acquired by Google in May of 2010.
Daniel Petri, Telecommunications Executive
Petri had a distinguished career with Verizon, culminating as Group President-International with overall responsibility for Verizon's businesses outside the United States, including telephone operations in more than 20 countries on five continents. He managed a diverse group of wireless and wireline assets that included all phases of the business life cycle, from business development, start-up, financing, expansion, maturity through disposition. He retired in 2008 after a 38-year career.
Urs Cete, Principal & CFO @ BDMI- Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments
Urs joined the corporate venture capital unit of the global media group Bertelsmann in 2006. Before that Urs was responsible for group controlling and special projects as a Director of Corporate Controlling & Strategy at Bertelsmann’s headquarters in Germany. Urs sits on the board of Mojiva, Blue Lion Mobile and Exit Games.
Blake Modersitzki, Managing Director at Pelion Venture Partners
Blake joined the firm in 2002, he brings 22 years of entrepreneurial, venture, and industry operating experience in infrastructure software, internet, communications, wireless, and e-commerce software and has been in the venture capital industry since 1997.
Mike Perlis, President and CEO at Forbes Media
Mr. Perlis joined Forbes from SoftBank Capital, where he served as a General Partner. Before joining SoftBank, he served as President and CEO of Ziff-Davis Publishing until its sale in 2000. Earlier in his career, Mr. Perlis served as Publisher of GQ, President of the Playboy Publishing Group, Publisher of Runner’s World and Men’s Health, and Chairman and CEO of IDG Peterborough.
He began his career in media as the co-founder of New England Publications in Camden, Maine. Mr. Perlis currently serves on the boards of BuzzFeed and Mojiva as well as the Association of Magazine Media (MPA) and the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB). He served on the board and was chairman of Associated Content before its sale to Yahoo!.
Previous board observer positions include GSI Commerce (sold to eBay), The Huffington Post (sold to AOL) and KickApps (sold to KIT digital). He is on the Board of Advisors of the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and is a trustee of Outward Bound.
William J. Wynperle, Partner at Shamrock Capital Advisors
Will is a Shamrock Capital Advisors Partner with over 14 years of media, entertainment, and communications investment experience. Will currently serves as a director of Learfield Communicatinos, Inc. and K2 Towers. Previously, he served on the boards of Media Storm, TeleGuam Holdings, PRN, and LifeStage Media Group before Shamrock exited these investments.
Will is also a board member of the US Lacrosse Foundation, a non-profit organization that operates in support of US Lacrosse, the sport's national governing body. He is also a former board member of the Los Angeles Chapter of Dartmouth Alumni Association and the co-founder of the UCLA Anderson Venture Capital/Private Equity Alumni Group. Prior to joining Shamrock in 1998, Will was an investment banker in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Smith Barney, Inc.
Mike Lasalle, Partner at Shamrock Capital Advisors
Mike is a Shamrock Capital Advisors Partner with over 10 years of media, entertainment, and communications investment experience. Mike currently serves as a director of Mojiva, INgrooves, Media Storm, and Harlem Globetrotters International. Previously, he served on the board of Modern Luxury Media before Shamrock exited this investment.
Mike is also on the leadership council for the Los Angeles Posse Foundation and was a board member of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Notre Dame Alumni Association and co-founder of the Southern California Association of Private Equity Investors. Prior to joining Shamrock in 2000, Mike was an investment banker at the mergers and acquisitions boutique, Putnam Lovell Securities.
Mike graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame and earned an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management as a Venture Fellow.
